NEW THIS YEAR - 'PREMIUM BIDDING' - a BUY NOW option! Bidders wanting to purchase the inventory immediately can place a premium bid price, prior to the April 13, 2006 deadline. Check the 'PREMIUM BID PRICE' in each category and email Christina Fairhurst at NABS (christinaf@nabs.org) with your Premium Bid information. The first Premium Bid received and confirmed will secure the package. Please note: this means, if you have bid on something, and another company chooses the 'Premium Bid' option, your bid will be cancelled.

NABS exists to assist people in the advertising business and its related media
in Canada. People who have spent the majority of their career working with organizations,
which are involved in the creation, production and placement of advertising
What is NABS
The National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) is the only charitable
organization in Canada that provides assistance to advertising, media and related
industry professionals, who may need help due to illness, injury, unemployment
or financial difficulties. NABS services include a national toll-free HELPLINE
(1-888-355-5548), financial assistance, skills assessment and retraining, as
well as emotional, personal and career counseling services. Founded in 1983,
and supported 100% by the industry, NABS has contributed more than $6.5 million
to thousands of industry colleagues and their families.
NABS has chapters in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.
What is the NABS Ad Auction?
The NABS Ad Auction is Canada's largest charitable Media Auction. Now in its
15th year, this is NABS' single, biggest annual fundraising program. In the
past 14 years, the auction has raised more than $7.0 million to help those in
need within the advertising, media and communications community. It is an excellent
opportunity for companies to find targeted, cost-efficient media deals while
supporting an excellent cause.

HOW DOES THE AUCTION WORK?
NABS secures donations from all the major sectors of media
- Conventional and specialty television
- Radio
- Newspaper
- Magazine
- Outdoor and Out of Home
- Interactive
- Production and research.
- Digital Signage
For the second year, the Auction provides a record of more than $3.5 million
in inventory, with more than 270 packages. The Ad Auction bidding begins at
50% of the rate card value of each donated item. Media values range from as
little as $200 up to $80,000, which makes the Ad Auction a unique opportunity
for organizations of all sizes to participate. Whatever the size of media budget,
there are properties that offer both agencies and clients outstanding value.
The Auction runs online from February 21 – April 13. The highest bid
received on the final day is the final bid. All successful and unsuccessful
bidders will be contacted within 30 days by the NABS office. All successful
purchasers will receive a package containing information on the successful items,
terms and conditions.
